Let me be clear, this is a GREAT 4-5 star game; The cell shading style still holds up and the gameplay is still tight and works great. The “Plot” was never anything to write home about though it did give the game solid progression even if it wasn’t really much of a story BUT the company that used to run the multiplayer servers (GameSpy) went out of business and there has been NO UPDATE to do ANYTHING about this By Feril Interactive 2K Games transitioned Borderlands over to Steam but that was only the Windows version, they made clear that any updates to the Mac version were FERIL’s responsibility the mac version has had NO SUPORT WHATSOEVER! If you accidently click on the online multiplayer in the menu the game instantly crashes because you’re telling it to do the impossible! As such the game is currently broken and only local LAN works for Multiplayer. There’s something wrong 3/5.

When I tried to start a new game with another character the entire area just turned green and the majority of the game now looks like a static with the game still somehow playing. And strangest thing now is that the game is closing at the star of the game and at the logo intros when they start playing, specifically the 2K logo at the end. Is there any possible way to update this game to fix some these problems or not? It still works though just gotta skip most of the scenes and you get straight to the game. Works on OS El Capitan 5/5. Where do I start, I mean everything is perfect I bought it yesterday and I’m playing it right now.

I haven’t had any problem, on the contrary the game is beautiful and amazing. The great and most blowing feature in this game is that you can actually transfer your saved game data from pc to the mac and just drop them in the saved game data folder in your mac and start playing with your saved data that you spent lots of hours to get like weapons and items even the finished missions. This feature for me is the most wanted features of all. Great Game, Poor Multiplayer 3/5. Borderlands is an awesome game though it can make your make you macbook REALLY hot if you don’t make a couple of changes. To run the game optimally on a 2014 Macbook Air with a 1.4 GHz processor, 4 GBs of Ram and 1.5 GB graphics card, I had to limit the framerate to 30 frames per second and disable some features through the.ini files. To access these files, open the start-up page for Borderlands, click advance settings and open the game files, click the folder MacInit and you will have access to the.ini files!

Goty

By limiting the frames per second and adjusting the settings with the help of a Lag Fix guides online, the game now runs on high settings without overheating. I think Borderlands 2 preformed better, but this game doesn’t run too bad either. Overall, I think Borderlands is a great game, though I kind of preffered Borderlands 2.

Both NPC and playable characters are ok in this game, but not particularly great and the enviorements aren’t as diverse. The desert design is pretty cool though! It makes me feel like a Lone Ranger in the wild west!

$30 isn’t a bad price for this game considering it includes the DLC, but you may want to hold out for a sale. At $10, this game was a steal! Warning: If you plan on tweaking the game, make sure to create a backup of the old.ini files just in case:). Can’t Host LAN game with Yosemite OS X 3/5.

This game one of my favorite games and on Mac mini Late (2012) i7 4GB RAM with Thunderbolt display (2560x1440) and with Maximum settings game runs very slow about 10-15 fps. When I turn off Dynamic Shadows the fps increased ( about 20 fps) Maybe if I install 16 GB of RAM the game will run much better but with current settings and resolution (2560x1440) I can’t normally playing. And in the settings I looking for disable Anti Aliasing but this parameter no in settings. But anyway this game is Great and I will install 16GB of RAM exactly for this game to increase performance a little bit. Great Game-Simply Put 4/5. I bought this game when it was on sale. The full GOTY edition for only $6.

Well worth it. I thought, why not, this is a seldom chance to buy it at such a unique price. I have played Border lands 2 on my console and completed the game 4 times. Border lands one is without a doubt still enjoyable and I must say, DO EVERY MISSION. The point is not to simply finish the game but to enjoy completing missions that are unique, expose you to new bosses and characters while emmersing yourself in a playground so big its always new when you get on. What makes the game even more enjoyable: Once you complete your first character to 69 while finishing at least one more difficulty after your first play through is being able to play another character. Though you are playing the game again with exact story line and characters you experience different combat which in totality effect your whole gameplay.

The ONLY concern: MOD for each character specialization do not effect the skils. I have a Catalyst MOD for my Siren. However, the 2+GIRL POWER does not show up in the skill tree even after adding 3 skill points to this specific skill. PLEASE FIX THIS: If this is normal than please tell me. I am unable to account for the buffs my MOD give me because they do not show an increase. FOR EXAMPLE: 3/5 GIRL POWER With MOD it should be 6/5 GIRL POWER. This is not shown.

Amazing game! This game truly excells in many ways, even though the 2nd one is already out and on the app store, this is still a must buy because its is great and at a superb price of 14.99. I did figure out the multiplayer and it is very fun when you get it working (took me about 20 minutes) i would only recommend the multyplayer if you have friends that also play this game because a lot of the servers are friends only and you need their password. Luckily i have a few friends for me to explore the world of Pandora with. I have encountered a bit of lag on multyplayer but thsat was because my friend has a kinda crappy connection. I have an late 2012 to early 2013 mac book Pro and the game is very smooth and exillerating.

I can not wait to spend more time on this game.Will. Better than I thought. My Macbook Air 3,2 (OS X 10.6.8) is not widely considered as a gaming machine. But the performance here would convince you otherwise; I can toy around with the graphic options without any great decline in performance.

Bioshock (the first one) performs even better. There are pre-setting for my Xbox 360 USB controller, and I have experienced no crashes so far. My only complaint has nothing to do with performance: there are no cheat codes for Mac, and this game is not so easy. Still, though, it's quite a drawback knowing I will not be able to see much of this game because it gets too difficult to play because there is no console, no cheat codes, no trainers, and no (accessible).ini files to alter in this Mac version. F-epic 5/5. This game is huge, I clocked myself walking from New heaven to firestone and it took me 14:26.45 minutes to walk/run across the game.

This includes loadings screnes and some fights. If you looking for a huge game and can't run bordelrands 2 or don't own an xbox or ps3. Than I highly recmend you to play bordlerands 1. Because truley this was and still is part of GoTy hall of fame. Surly the will be among the classics our children will want to play.

So play this and if at all possible borderlands 2. You wont regret your purchases and hundreds of horus spent playing.

Amazing 5/5. This is one of those rare gems where there's still a lot to do even after you've beaten the game. It's incredibly addicting, though sometimes frustrating. You should buy this and recommend it to anyone who considers themselves a master of Call of Duty, because this game will throw you and them for a loop.

There are so many weapons to acquire that just when you think you've mastered one weapon, along comes a better one. Also, if you think you're a master of Black Ops Zombies, you might want to try Jackob's Cove (Zombie Island of Dr. Ned), because the zombies there will give you something different entirely. The only problem with this is that there are no respawn points in the DLC areas for you to go to when starting the game, which can be very frustrating, especially at later levels.

Oh, and if you like road warrior-type stuff, then try the T-Bone junction area (Secret Armory of General Knoxx), because this area has a LOT of vehicle combat, along with new vehicles. So, if you're debating about buying this game. I highly recommend that you do. This is also a good purchase if you cannot get Borderlands 2. AMAZING!!!!

This game is so cool. I love it actually.

Grafics are good fps stays good (most of the time any way, I did have 1 slip-up but just ONE) and overall the game is good. BUT Theres no multiplayer unless you can afford TWO macs to do a lan game which slows your internet and its just between you and your friend in the same house, as far as I see theres no online multiplayer. ALTHOUGH I did see something where it LOOKS like it could be multiplayer online but it just takes you the the web browser and asks to download some thing to play on line on over 500 games. PS IF SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO DO MULTIPLAYER PLEASE TELL ME! THAT WOULD BE GREAT BECAUSE AS OF NOW THERES NO WAY TO DO IT. =(. Amazing Game!

I bought Borderlands going into it thinking it would run well at higher setting simply due to the fact that my system (Late 2008 Macbook Pro) easily fit all of the technical specifications. I was surprised to see that the game ran poorly at first but tweaking settings can bring you around 60 FPS even on mine. These would include no AA or VSync but you bought a Macbook so you have to give up thngs like that. I did have to set settings like texture and quality down to medium and no shadows but in a game with this type of art style, the shadows actually don't make much of a difference.

Borderlands The Game

Games/apps: Borderlands Goty For Mac

The game looks good at these settings and is fun, but of course you knew that already because Borderlands is Borderlands. The game itself is of course a 5/5 and for technical specifications and the quality of the port, an ok 4/5. I must admit, most systems made later than mine can run this game no problem so for most people it would be a 5/5 so let's just go with a 10/10 for the general population and somewhere around a 9/10 for me. But to be honest, my system isn't what you'd call 'high-tech' these days. Awesome game Feral, and Gearbox respectively.

Keep up the good work, -Your truly AJ. Great game, however multiplayer has been poorly implemented.

As someone who also played this extensively on the PC side, the multiplayer setup on the mac side is very cumbersome. You download an application from a third party (gameranger) which handles hosting. This means everytime you want to play a multiplayer game, you exit borderlands, and launch gameranger instead, which means everytime you have a problem hosting, you have to exit, adjust settings, and relaunch the game.

Worst of all, if you would like to chat with the people you are playing with, you have to pay for a 'premium' account through gameranger. On top of that, I've found the service to be rather spotty (today I spent an hour trying to join a game, launching borderlands, and continuously timing out).

So if you're buying this game to play with friends, keep this in mind! The actual game itself is a lot of fun. Very nice visuals (UDK engine with a touch of cell shading), with some very cool open world design. Occasionaly I find myself stopping and staring at the horizon, allowing myself to travel to the location I can barely see in the distance. There are some nice atmospheric effects as well to acheive the scope of the game. This game of the year edition really has a ton of content to play through, and the randomly generated weapon system is rather addicting. I'm glad feral brought this game to mac, however the multiplayer experience (one of the best aspects of the game) has been somewhat ruined.

cool fun 4/5. I'm going to start of by saying this game is fantastic! I play on a early 2011 Macbook Pro with 4gb of RAM and 320gb Hardrive and it runs great. The single player aspect of the game is fun, challenging at some points, and can be confusing, but in a good way. The confusion just lets you explore the world known as Pandora. The Mac version isn't very different from the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 version of the game besides the controls. If you don't have a mouse the game can be quite difficult to play so I recommend changing the zoom (aim) button to Q since it is very hard to use the trackpad in quick situations.

Some lag may be experienced while playing, so I suggest plug into the power source if possible while playing to increase the power of the laptop. I have had the game for about 5 or so months now and I have yet to get the Multiplayer working. The program you need to use Gameranger is horrible and freezes up, requiring me to force quit it. Luckily I recently purchased the Xbox 360 version of the game and the multiplayer works flawelessly on that. It is a shame that the multiplayer doesn't work great but the single player portion of this game is well worth over thirty US dollars since it is included with four DLC Stories.

The original story is great with creative and very intresting to play and leaves you on end wanting to know where to go next. The first DLC: Dr Neds Zombie island is a fun expansion to the game with very funny humor.

The second DLC: Moxxi's underdome was a little bit dissappointing. If you enter this DLC excited about continuing on quests and sidemissions you will be upset to find out that this DLC is just a battle Arena with multiple rounds, Not saying that it isn't a good edition but I expected more. The third DLC: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is a similar to the first DLC with quests and side missions.

Games/apps: Borderlands Goty For Mac Download

Although I am not 100% finished with this DLC it is fun, yet much harder than the other ones. The new vehicles, and use of Scooter make you feel like scooter is more of a main character than a side character.

The last DLC: Claptraps Robot Revolution is a fantastic way to tie up the ending to the normal Borderlands storyline. If you really don't care about the DLCs I would recommend at least playing This one although some of the bosses may be confusing because of skipping the other DLCs. I would rate this game a 4.5 because there is bad multplayer support. But at least its on MAC.

Have a Great Day - Brandon. the macbook pro is amzing with this game 5/5. I was really excited about playing this game but unforuntely the lag is so bad that I can't even play. My specs are below, I have upgraded the ram to 8gb and it still doesn't work.

All game settings on low. Anybody have any ideas or advice? Borderlands Goty Backwards Compatible

Best game for mac possible. I was delighted to hear that Borderlands was also a mac accessable game. Most games are only available on PC's. This game is not just the best mac game, it's the best game in general, it's just your luck that it's also on mac. This game has the perfect mix of plot and sandbox elements to keep you playing for hours. Unlike most games, it has over 20,000 unique guns, each gun with unique attributes and powers.

The computer generated enemies adjust to your level to make the game challenging, but not over-kill. This game is the optimal merge of a basic sandbox game and a hardcore RPG game. Final Message: BUY THIS GAME!!! IT'S WELL WORTH THE 30 BUCKS!!!!. AMAZING GAME!!!!!
